The Microsoft Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) is a toolbar
menu that appears in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Office 2007 and
above products in the top left corner of the window.
As seen in the picture, the Quick Access Toolbar gives you quick
access to commonly used features such as the Save feature. Clicking on the
Quick Access Toolbar down arrow gives you the ability to customize the Quick
Access Toolbar and add and remove any of the commands shown in the toolbar.
The new Ribbon in Office 2007
can take a while to get used to, so the Quick Access Toolbar is a great way to
put your most frequently used commands on a single toolbar while you are
getting used to the Ribbon.
Open Excel 2007 and click the down arrow next to the
Quick Access Toolbar.
Tip: customize the Quick
Access Toolbar
By default, the toolbar only contains three basic functions; save, undo and
redo. You can
customize the toolbar to include a shortcut to any pre-defined function in
Excel.
1. Right click within the Quick Access Toolbar, and click on Customize Quick Access
Toolbar
2. Click on the name of a function to highlight it, then click Add.
3. Click on OK when done.
